From hell to heaven in one day!

CELEBRATION TIME! Chocolate I have wanted to try for long but couldn't afford it and some briecheese. : 'D

Today I spent 6 hours in what I think was hell.
I was working at Pizza hut.
It was the most stressful job I've ever had in my entire life. (And I have worked in several kitchens..) And the person who was supposed to teach me showed zero understanding that this was my first day! :( I felt like a bouncyball and when I tried to stop and take a sip of water he complained that I was hanging around doing nothing?!

When I finally got a break and and trying to decide whether I should stay another day at Pizza hut or not, I saw that I had a missed call from Västerås restaurant unit. I called them and it turned out I've got a job in the kitchen of a retirement home! YAAY! It is at 75% which is 25% more than I have now and I'm starting in August. :D I'm so happy that I won't be unemployed this autumn!

I'm so happy so I could scream out loud. What an incredible relief. One day I of course hope that I'll be working as a pastrychef again, but until then, I don't mind working as a kitchen assistant. ^ ^

  1. Congratulations! ^^
I guess, Pizza Hut is like McDonalds; My friends at high scool used to work there, some in the kitchen, some at the cash desks, but they told real horrorstories about what was going on in the kitchen...Still, you gave it a shot and saw how it works, it's experience. ^^

  3. Congratulations! I can well imagine what it must be like to work in a fast food restaurant, I do not envy the ones working there. The better you got the other job, that's great. My mum works in a retirement home, too. She used to work in the kitchen, now she is doing the laundry and makes the beds.
If you have nice collegues and cope well will the people living there it can be a great job. I wish you all the best of luck!
Oh, and Swiss Chocolate. If you need some more or want to try out other brands, feel free to ask, I am living at the source, you know ;-)

    1. Yeah it was craaaazy, that speed! My body is not created for that sort of job, haha.

Nice :D I have worked in retirementhome kitchens now and then before and it's good, always having something to do, but is not too stressful, I usually get to bake much as well :D

Hey, we should do "our countrys best candy exchange" with each other? xD

  5. Congratulations, Lesthi! That is exciting news about the retirement home. Much better atmosphere than any fast food place, I imagine. What does it mean that it's at 75% - 25% more than you have now?

Now you can relax and enjoy your wedding plans!

    1. Thank you :D yes it really is, I like working in retirement kitchens!

I'm working 50% now, so with this new 75% job I get 25% more money and workingtime :D which is very needed!

Mhm! My brain feels so much easier to handle know that I dont have to worry about money ^^

  6. Quit Pizza Hut! Is there a local library where you can work shelving books? Any coffee shops needing bakers? In my city, women who want to bake in kitchens and coffee shops (and work baker's hours) have plenty of employment opportunities!

    1. No I have asked around everywhere several times since I graduated from baking school, it's full everywhere. But I think I will get to bake in the retirement home kitchen, old people loooves having some buns and cakes :D

  7. Congrats on the better job! I'm curious about the 75% as well. Also, I would absolutely be on board with a "country's best candy" exchange. Korea has some very interesting sweets, but it's kind of a limited selection and I'd love to try some new chocolate.

  8. Yayy! congrats! having a job you hate can really suck. It really ruins me outside of the job sometimes. My emotional being is too sensitive to deal with any nonsense, haha

    1. Yes I understand that, I have had a job I truly hated going to, I hope that will never happen again and that you will find a better job ^^

  9. Congratulations! Really glad that this turned out the best way. It would've been awful if that Pizza hut was your only option. In Finnish the word for being a boss like that is 'simputtaminen'.
We should think about the candy exchange... :3
