Lolita dresses

Last week I got a comment from Shannon that dressing in lolita would look good on me.
And I've actually tried twice to change to the lolita style. Once in 2008 and once in 2010. It was too much fuss for me though. The skirts, the hair...and I also I felt more like I was going to a masquerade than myself.

But I thought I show some photos from my 2 lolita periods. :)

And even though my goal isn't to be lolita anymore I kept three favourite dresses when I sold off the others.
I use them as "ordinary" dresses without underskirts.
What do you think of the lolitastyle?

  1. You looked soooo lovely <3 I mean, I love lolita, but I don't think it looks good on anyone. (Which doesn't mean they shouldn't wear it!) But on you, it's stunning <3
I know, lolita takes time, a lot of money, a lot of hairdoing, a lot of accessorizing... it can be exhausting but it is so cute *_*

    1. Thank you :D
I think I was too lazy overall to get that cute doll-look. I have never been much for makeup, expecially not spending time putting on fake eyelashes so, haha!

  2. Wow you had some really nice dresses! And you look lovely, but you look good in everything! Which three dresses did you keep?

    1. Thank you :D <3 Yes, most of them I found on ebay to very cheap prices as well.
I kept the one with pink bambis on because it's too cute to sell :D
And also these two in black:

  3. I have to agree with the others, you look lovely in lolita. But I can understand that you don't want to wear it regularly, not only that it is that time consuming, but also that it is often seen as masquerade in public.
And you shouldn't wear anything you don't feel comfortable in.
But yes, omitting the petticoat changes a lot and gives many of these dresses a less dolled-up look.

    1. Thank you :) Yes I it feels so weird for me with all the needed accessories for a lolita look. :P I like to wear it for photosessions though.

  4. Oh! Andra och tredje bilden från 2010! <3 Den helsvarta klänningen var ju ubersnygg! :D

  6. That last outfit looks particularly good, but of course, Lolita is very time consuming. Maybe for special occasions?

    1. Yes it really is! I hate having to spend much time on my look in the morning xD

On special occassions I always wanna dress extremly goth instead because I dont get to do that so much in my daily life actually :'D But I like to be lolita in photosession sometimes.

  8. I think Lolita is adorable on young girls, but it's definitely not a style that you can wear forever.

Unlike Goth ... Well, all except for the corsets, I suppose. Eventually, you'd have to give those up or risk looking ridiculous. :P

    1. That might be true, at least for sweet lolita. I think classic lolita is a style older persons could still pull off :D

Haha there is a huge risk I will be one of those ridiculous persons in the future ;P people already think I'm too old for my clothes.

  9. The Lolita was cute, but I much prefer your current style :)

  10. Lolita is so troublesome...and indeed, it feels more like a masquerade, than anthing else, but it does fit you! Maybe you should dress lolita on special occasions, you'd look adorable! ^^

    1. Mhm, I dont know how they have the time and strenght do dress themself up so much each day :'D

On special occassions I often tend to go for extremly goth because that's what I feel most comfortable in I guess. I have extremely easy to feel so very uncomfortable in something so I become very shy and the whole evening is spoiled, so it's better to go for the safecards. xD It would be fun to dress up as a gothic lolita sometime though!

  12. I do think you look nice in lolita, but if you don't feel like yourself wearing those clothes, it just isn't the right style for you :3 I have a couple of friends who dress in lolita, one of them even does it on a daily basis. I do like the style and the diversity of it, but it's definitely not something for me.

    1. It's so sad when one loves a style but isn't able to wear it oneself xD Like cybergoth, I feel so much love for that style but feel uncomfortable in that as well.
