Weddingdress angst

I have second thoughts about  my planned wedding dress.

As some of you know, this is my design I have made for it, and a friend is gonna sew it:

But the more I think about it, I am not so pleased... Especially that it has so much white, I'm really not sure I want to get married in white at all. O.o Every time in my life when I have been wearing white, I have felt very uncomfortable.

I also have two things in my head that want to be a part of the dress it seems. I love the skirt of Belles yellow dress in beauty and the beast, so a plan has been designing itself in my head.

What about combining a skirt like that, though in black and red instead yellow of course with this corset:

I don't know how many times I've drooled over this corset! I love everything on it.

It's very hard to know what I will feel comfortable in on the weddingday. I wanna feel like myself and be comfortable, I'm not so sure my first design is the right thing to go for. :/

  3. I think the first dress, your design, suits you more, and would be more appropriate for an outdoor wedding (if you are having the ceremony outdoors). Instead of white, why not go with ivory, cream, or even red for the fabric of the first dress?

    1. Oh no we are not having it outside, it's in the middle of the winter so ^^ it will be superdupercold that day I think.

I think I also is worried about my design :/ if it was the right dress for me to wear at my wedding I think I should be more satisfied with it than I am now shouldn't I?

  4. Well, I like the design of the first dress, but somehow yes, it looks not modern. IF you combine two styles, like corset and the Bell's skirt part, ti would look much more unique and fashionable. May be that's what you want in your wedding dress.
Hope you will find your dress soon.

    1. I really agree with you, the first desgin is pretty but it doesn't feel like my style since it's more victorian than gothic I think, corset and poofy skirt is more me. I have ordered home the corset to try and see how it feels like :)

    2. Then go for corset for sure, you will look stunning in such dress :)

  5. Ooh, I feel your pain. I'm getting married in less than a month and for a long time I couldn't settle on a wedding dress. As it turns out, I will be wearing an interesting white dress made of many different kinds of lace, and a lovely red corset made by Damsel in this Dress. Have you tried looking at Etsy? Even though your friend is going to sew the dress, you might find some inspiration there. Good luck!

    1. That sound very pretty! I hope we get to see pictures after the wedding :D

I have been looking around a little on etsy but mostly for accessories, I will take a dress round there as well ^^

  7. Have you seen this gorgeous Belle dress?

You have to go with what makes you comfortable, if it's not you then you won't be happy! I think I said once I might get married in burgundy, in some cultures red is a good luck colour, but I look better in burgundy than red.

It is your wedding, have your dream dress!

Some people worry about what others will think. I think anyone who knows you and knows how you dress won't care, they will want you to be yourself!

By the way, you look fantastic in red!

    1. Wooow :O I think I might have to look through all the pictures in that folder, thanks for the link! :D

Thank you also for your sweet and nice words, that's exactly what I needed to hear to calm down my head a little. :)

  8. Maybe the white isn't just you at least not at the moment. A strong colour would feel memorable, too, but really as others have said you just go how your heart says. Never mind what's a culturally 'reasonable' colour. Weddings are a thing of emotion and heart and we're not living in a reasonable world anyway! :) Red for example suits you, and red & black, like the theme week pictures showed.

    1. You are so right ^^ And better safe than sorry so to say xD

Thank you! I should wear more red in daily life, it's such a nice color. ^^
